Festivals
Throughout the year there are many local festivals - more like street parties - in the area. The towns of Santa Fiora, Arcidosso and Roccalbegna stage open air classical concerts during July and August and every village has a series of “Sagre” to celebrate various local delicacies such as Gnocchi, Bread or Funghi from the summer months through the autumn. The New Year and the Befana (when a witch of the same name brings presents to good children on 6th January) are celebrated with bonfires in the piazzas, mulled wine and polenta. |
